Lighthouse Wish List

The wish list below covers all of our programs—from babies to seniors. It is very diverse and includes things like toys, art supplies, educational games, small appliances, gift certificates for services, office supplies, silent auction prizes, and donations for our programs. For your convenience, we also have an Amazon wish list that contains some of  these items.

Your monetary and gift-in-kind donations help us serve more people. Learn about the impact your donations have on our clients.

General Donations

  • Office supplies including copy paper, pens, file folders, books with large print, cleaning supplies, coffee, plastic utensils, paper products, etc.
  • Beep ball equipment, audible tennis game, accessible yoga mats
  • Guest speakers and instructors
  • Free professional printing, funding & postage for awareness campaigns
  • Projector with thumb drive slot and carrying case – $65-$700 – for outreach activities
  • Covered pavilion to allow outdoor activities when it rains at the New Port Richey Lighthouse
  • An awning canopy for the Brooksville back porch
  • A 10×10 canopy tent with walls and an entrance
  • Golf cart to navigate the large area behind the new building – $2,000
  • A riding lawn mower with a mulching kit (mower needs to cover 3 1/2 acres), a battery operated blower, and a battery operated trimmer—all for the Brooksville Lighthouse
  • Cell phones for our navigators
  • Lighting display with various bulbs, fixtures, dimmers, with switches (materials and skilled labor)

Early Intervention Babies Program (birth to 5 years old)

  • Toys made specifically for blind kids, such as Hug-A-Bug Rattle & Lights, Play & Sound Mat, Rolliphant Ball Track, Sensory Balls, Playskool Busy Ball Popper, Ultimate LEGO, Me in the Mirror
  • Sponsors for parent support groups
  • The use of bouncy houses, donated tickets to petting zoos, etc.
  • Partial program funding

Children’s Program (5-13 years old)

  • Bicycles and safety equipment
  • Arts and crafts materials
  • Braille board games and card games
  • Tickets to theme parks, ball games, etc.
  • Walkie Talkies (package of 3) – under $200
  • Roped off run and play area New Port Richey Lighthouse for children who are totally blind
  • Partial program funding

Teen Program (14-22 years old)

  • Gift cards for field trips
  • Invitations for “behind the scenes” visits to job sites
  • Speakers on careers, nail care, skin care, and other interesting topics relevant for teens
  • Volunteers to teach new things, such as dance, self-defense, etc.
  • Partial program funding

Independent Living Skills Program (Adults & Seniors)

  • Upgraded Alexa-operated microwave/air fryer
  • Kitchen free-standing cupboard/pantry
  • Cookware, utensils, kitchen supplies, aprons
  • Class supplies (such as bold lined paper, 20/20 pens (bold markers), etc.)
  • Department store gift cards for class & food supplies (food supplies include peanut butter, jelly, cake mixes, brownie mixes, aluminum foil, parchment paper paper products, dish soap, canned soups, canned tuna)
  • Gift certificates for restaurants for training trips
  • Large print dymo-labelers with 1″ tape
  • Large print playing cards, bingo cards, tactile dice, and dominoes
  • Outdoor table and chairs/picnic table
  • Large high contrast clock
  • “Lighthouse” artwork for classroom
  • Partial program funding

Employment Program & Vocational Rehabilitation

  • Donations to support employment training for persons who are blind and visually impaired.
  • Donations for equipment needed in the manufacturing and office areas at the Center.
  • Gift certificates for haircuts & clothes so clients can look their best for interviews and work.
  • Placement opportunities for job training, job shadowing and employment.
  • Partial program funding

Employment Program & Technology

  • Android Tablets – midline
  • Braille Translation Software from Duxbury System

Fundraising

  • Gift certificates for products and services for auctions
  • Gift baskets for auctions
  • Other types of prizes for auctions
