Notes about volunteering:

  • Our need for volunteers is often sporadic so the best thing to do is send in a completed volunteer application in order to introduce yourself.
  • Lighthouse assigns volunteer opportunities based on volunteer interests, capabilities, suitability, availability, and demand.
  • Our volunteer opportunities are varied—some are one-time only or ongoing, and many volunteers are on-call.
  • Some volunteering can be done from home.
  • Most in-person volunteering is done Monday to Thursday during business hours however events usually happen at night or on the weekend.
  • The list of volunteer functions above are only some of the ways you can help. If there is something you’d like to volunteer for that is not on our list, please let us know.
  • We check references and run criminal background checks as required.
